Director's Word
"Due to the sensitive topic of the film, it was most important to me as director that the music should be a subtle expression of the character’s deep inner journey. It was a difficult task which I asked: to compose a theme which combines several feelings in order to highlight the past events of the storyline, which keep crawling back into the character’s present. The fluidity with which these hard, sad feelings and haunting atmosphere is organically combined in the main musical theme of the film is a perfect mirror of our heroine’s multitude of emotions. To this day, when I attend a screening and hear the musical theme together with the mother’s voice, it gives me shivers."
